Clinics
We are pleased to offer members the option of enrolling in running clinics that will take them from learning to run to preparing for the Trapline Marathon! Each clinic offers two supported group runs for each week of the program and provides coaches that will help out with questions that you might have about your training.
Our current clinic offerings are:

- 10 KM
- Half Marathon (includes lower intensity option)
- Full Marathon

5 KM Beginner Clinic
The Trappers’ Running Club is now organizing a clinic for individuals who have not been running regularly over the winter months. This clinic is appropriate for anyone who:
- Is new to running and interested in beginning (must be able to walk 3km fairly easily)
- Has ran in the past but has not ran for a few months/years and needs a program that will very gradually progress to avoid injury
- Has tried to run in the past but due to injuries was forced to stop
- Has had a baby recently (or not so recently) and wants to get back into running. We will select stroller friendly routes!
Registration will cover two organized group runs per week over an 8-week period for a total of 16 runs. The two group runs will take place on Tuesday evenings at 5:30pm and Saturday mornings at 10:00am. The first few weeks will focus on running and breathing techniques so you will learn how to run properly to minimize the risk of injury. There will be a total of three runs per week, so registrants will complete one run on their own independent of the group.
Once you register for the clinic you will receive the 5km training program. There are three different options to choose from within the program based on your running experience and fitness level. Registration for this clinic is open until April 30, 2018.

10 KM Clinic
This is a 13-week program that progressively increases the distance that a runner runs. By the end of the program a runner should be able to complete a 10 KM run.
All participants should be able to comfortably run 5 KM before starting the program.
The key to success is to be consistent and complete a minimum of 3 run/walk workouts each week as indicated in the program outline. Each run you complete will build your endurance, so stick with it, even if some days you may find it more difficult than others!
Please note that all runners are encouraged to run without ear buds or head phones during all clinic runs. Also, registration for the10 KM Clinic will be restricted to Club members. In addition, runners are required to be 12 years or older on the first day of the clinic.

Half/ Full Marathon Clinic
This is a 16-week program that progressively increases the distance that a runner runs. By the end of the program a runner should be able to complete a Half or Full Marathon depending on the long run distances that you choose throughout the program.Please note that all runners are encouraged to run without ear buds or head phones during all clinic runs. Also, registration for the Half/Full Clinic will be restricted to Club members. In addition, runners are required to be 16 years or older on the first day of the clinic if training for the Half Marathon, and 18 years of age or older on the first day of the clinic if training for the Full Marathon.
